Dumping Syndrome Diet


Points should consider while planning a diet for Dumping Syndrome patient:-

  • Have a protein food with each meal and snack.
  • Increasing intake of protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates.
  • Avoiding simple sugar as table sugar.
  • Choose high fiber food.
  • Eating five or six small meals per day.
  • Delaying liquid intake until at least 30 minutes after and before a meal.
  • Do not drink liquid with meals.
  • Lie down as soon as you finish eating, it helps to reduce the symptoms of dumping syndrome by slowing the emptying of food from the stomach.
  • Increasing intake of salt and water to improve nausea.
  • Eat slowly and chew food thoroughly.
